Dr. Alexandra Simotas is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. She has been in private practice in Houston since 1999. She currently holds a private practice at the Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center in North Houston. Dr. Simotas is also on staff at Women's Hospital of Texas and St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in the Texas Medical Center.
Dr. Simotas received her bachelor degree with Honors in Biochemistry from The University of Texas at Austin in 1990. She attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where she was recognized with honors in Immunology.
Dr. Simotas subsequently trained for one year through the Department of Anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine before completing her Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Prior to completion of her training, she served as Chief Administrative Resident and completed her senior residency project on pyelonephritis in pregnancy.
Dr. Simotas is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Harris County Medical Association, and Texas Medical Association.
Dr. Simotas is currently the Vice-President of the North Branch Harris County Medical Society and the Vice-President of the Hellenic Medical Society of Texas. She also serves on multiple medical committees including educational and credentialing committees.
