Dr. Alexandra Simotas is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. She graduated with Honors in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin and received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, where she was recognized with honors in Immunology.
Dr. Simotas subsequently trained at Baylor College of Medicine in the Department of Anesthesiology prior to completing her Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. There she served as Chief Administrative Resident and focused her research and senior project on pyelonephritis in pregnancy.
After extensive training, Dr. Simotas moved back to Houston to settle in the city she considers home. She has served as the Vice-President of the North Harris County Medical Society and Vice- President of the Hellenic Medical Society of Texas. She currently serves on multiple medical committees including educational and credentialing committees.
Dr. Simotas has also served as an instructor for Professional Seminars, training and educating other physicians around the country to become board certified. She has extensive research experience in all natural, non toxic, formulations used in stretch mark oils and has served as medical adviser for others in protecting the safety and well being of pregnant women who seek a safe and effective solution for their stretch marks.
Dr. Simotas is one of four daughters born to Greek immigrant parents. Her parents inspired her and her sisters to excel academically with her sister Anna becoming an entrepreneur, Sofi a psychologist and Helen an attorney. Recently, the sisters have honored their father by creating the "Nick Simotas Scholarship Fund" to help students pursue their education and achieve the American dream.
Currently she is the president and owner of Women's Care. She is on staff at Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center in North Houston, The Women's Hospital of Texas and St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in the Texas Medical Center.
Dr. Simotas is considered an expert in her field and has been interviewed and quoted in numerous publications and articles for her expert opinion.
She continues to be very active in her volunteer work which includes the work she has done for Katrina victims, her numerous health fairs for charity, along with her generous and giving donations to help children with disabilities.
